Details
A tallit is a Jewish prayer shawl. The tallit is worn over the outer clothes during the morning prayers and worn during all prayers on the day of atonement (Yom Kippur). The tallit has special twined and knotted fringes known as Tzizit attached to its four corners.
In some Jewish communities, the Tallit is only worn by married men, and is therefore presented to the groom by either the bride, her family, or friends of the couple.
